We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams . . .
yet we are the movers and shakers of the world forever, it seems

yes, I love summer!!

This is my garden! it is finally growing now that the heat has set in and the rain has finally taken a break!! We have eaten some peas, blueberries, strawberries, onions, thyme, basil and green and wax beans already! We are still waiting on the tomatoes, watermelon, beets, edamame, blackberries and hot peppers though! This is our little trip to Emmett for the cherry picking. We get to do this every year and we love it! This year, with just the 5 of us, we picked 34 pounds of cherries!!! Yum, Yum! Elliott ate all he could handle . . . I don't think one cherry made it into his bucket.

We also got to pick strawberries at a local farm to make YUMMY strawberry jam. That had a fun hayride and good eats too.

Finally, we took a trip to visit the parents in Pocatello this week and had so much fun, as usual. Ruth and baby Karver were there, and so were the Wilson's (actaully, we followed them there!) We got our eyebrows waxed, did Biore strips, painted our nails, ped-egged our feet, it was all around fun! Elliott wanted in on the action too, so I had to oblige. We also went to see Up! in 3-D and got some super-cool shades. And, that is our super-cool summer so far!

summer fun times!

Here are a bunch of photos to sum up the fun we've been having this summer! I tried something new with my sister Heather: pickling!! We went wild asparagus picking twice, and into the mountains to pick "kosari" (fiddle-head fern), and we pickled both of those. We have been camping again, with the Wilson's this time, and it was super-fun! No wild animal sightings this time. The kids both finished their semesters at the Little gym, Lucy in her cheerleading class, and Elliott in his sports class. Lucy graduated from preschool and is onto kindergarten in the fall!! Lucy used a sharp knife to cut mushrooms! I threw a birthday party for my father-in-law, and made "jockey cake" for him--an old family favorite. Here ya go, Enjoy.
