Mother's Day Musings Part 1

I first became a mother when Lucy was born September 2003, 6 pounds, 7 ounces. She was 3 1/2 weeks early, induced because of my blood pressure. I had been on magnesium for pre-eclampsia for about 30 hours, so she was well-drugged and too sleepy to breathe. She spent 5 days in the NICU, just until the drugs were out of her system and she was strong enough to come home. What a doll she was, and still is! I just wanted to reminisce and look through some of her old pictures, and I decided to share them with the world and immortalize them forever on the internet. She is very smart, loves to read, loves to get "challenge words" for her spelling (it means she aced the pretest so she gets another set of words for the week), she loves when I let her help or take care of her two little brothers, and she is a champion mushroom slicer. She has the biggest heart and is always looking out for others. She is my angel-girl...

LUCY!!!!!

As a baby, she always looked very suspicious. This is her one-eyed pirate look.

When you touched her bottom lip, she would do this cute pout. What a doll.
Our little Lucy-burrito.

Look at that face! Have you ever seen a new-born that is so beautiful? She was a great sleeper, and never cried...only fussed when she was hungry.

Awww, all hooked up to monitors, but still peaceful.

Here is the super-proud big sister. She still gets this same grin when she holds Archer!

This is her Daddy's favorite picture; love the smile.

Seriously?!?!? So cute!! Those big brown eyes are the best!

That's the smile ...it looks the same still. I love how you can see who they are going to grow up to be, even back then.

Girlie's little Daddy.

Our little princess.

Love you Lucy!

Wow! I am glad I did not miss this post and a trip back in time. One of the newborn pictures looks so much like her now. Beautiful!
