Family Reunion: Day 9; Homeward Bound

On our way home now. What an amazing trip. It was such a blessing to get to know more family. They were such good examples of what family should be and how we should treat each other....we love you extended Hynes family!

Mikey was excited to see this stadium. We were hoping to catch a game, but they were on the road, so a Twins hat from the Mall of America had to do.

Up at 3:30am (that's 2:30 Boise time!) we were off to the airport. You can still see a little sleepy in the kids' eyes. At the airport we got to ride the rail to get us through the terminals. Elliott thought this was the perfect way to begin and end the trip.
Weeks ago, when he found out we were going on a trip, he asked if we could ride a train there. I said that I didn't think so. Never underestimate the power of a 4 year old's wish.
Such guilt. What kind of breakfast is this?!? It was a necessity...I promise! They look so miserable eating it though right? Oh well, as Harmony says, "it's ok...we're on vacation!"

The best travel buddies ever! Thanks for bringing us along Harmony and Had Abogi!

Ok, the trip is over, so I have some catching up to do. Last month, Mikey got a phone call from corporate offices in Arkansas saying they wanted to interview him about his award. Huh? He worried that his technicians had followed through in their threat to name him "green pharmacist of the year", and he had nothing to tell them. In talking with the journalist, he found out that he had actually been named Divisional Pharmacist of the Year! He hasn't officially been notified of this award because he declined the invitation to attend the meeting in Arkansas in May where they announced it. Doh! In a local debriefing on the award, it was said "In the course of his career, Hynes has had a positive impact on the customers he serves. . . His customers consider him a trusted advisor. Whether it is helping them to better understand their health issues or finding them ways to save money, Mike is dedicated to giving customers the best customer service." That's my boy! Below are some pictures the store took while celebrating his accomplishment. They are two pictures stacked together because I had to scan them in...enjoy!

Congratulations, Mike! We know what a fine man you are but it is nice to know that others recognize it.
Bonnie, the kids will be able to better remember this memorable, family filled trip because of your documenting it so beautifully and we were able to enjoy it, too.
Love,
Mom
